Notice – Online Classes
Due to COVID-19 Musical Stars has temporarily suspended its face to face classes and moved them online. While it’s not quite business as usual, we hope to keep adding to your theatrecraft kete and we hope you have fun using this new medium! Each week there will be a series of exciting new activities, videos and fun challenges to keep you entertained and learning. At the end of the week we will compile a feature video of everyone’s submissions into one big Musical Stars project. Stay tuned….
The joy of Musical Theatre
Watch your child build confidence, creativity and self-esteem while learning the music, dance and songs from their favorite movies and musicals.
“I don’t sing because I’m happy, I’m happy because I sing” – Chinese proverb
“Kids dance before they learn there is anything that isn’t music” – William Stafford
“I’m curious about other people. That’s the essence of my acting. I’m interested in what it would be like to be you.” – Meryl Streep
Do your children love to perform? Are they constantly singing, dancing, and grooving to the beat? Do they love stories and storytelling? Do they want to know more about theatrecraft and how to engage audiences? At Musical Stars we are passionate about providing a fun and safe environment for children to grow their performance skills and confidence.
Musical Stars is an after school musical theatre class for children aged 5+ years. We are accredited by Musical Theatre New Zealand and classes are run by professionals working in the industry.
The Musical Stars experience not only ignites a passion for Performing Arts but also gives children an opportunity to be challenged and to succeed. It encourages the formation of many important life skills and supports the NZ School Arts Curriculum.
I have long believed in the important role that music and the arts can play in helping students learn, achieve, and succeed. Education in theatre, dance and the visual arts is one of the most creative ways we have to find the gold that is buried just beneath the surface. They (children) have an enthusiasm for life, a spark of creativity and vivid imagination….
It is in Apple’s DNA that technology alone is not enough—it’s technology married with liberal arts, married with the humanities, that yields us the results that make our heart sing.
