Talita Archibald

Talita Archibald

Talita Archibald is an experienced childhood educator with over 22 years teaching performance and drama to school aged children. Talita trained in Music Therapy at the University of Buenos Aires, Argentina and at Colorado State University, USA. Originally from Buenos Aires, Argentina, she met her Kiwi soulmate while travelling in Scotland and in 2004 moved to Wellington. Now she lives with her husband, two young children and her beloved dog.

She brings the flamboyance and enthusiasm for music, dance and drama from her home in Argentina. She is passionate about developing the best of each child through singing, acting or dancing.

Trudy Dalziel

Trudy comes from a “theatrical” family and has been performing since the age of 5. On return from overseas, Trudy taught drama to children in Christchurch, before moving to Wellington where she has been actively involved in many productions, both on and offstage, mainly with Stagecraft Theatre for the past 10 years.

Trudy has a passion for all aspects of theatre and performance and loves the opportunity Musical Stars gives her to share this passion with the Musical Stars children. Trudy mixes the magic of imagination and story telling with technical skills to help give children the confidence to perform.

Trudy also enjoys writing scripts for children, some of which have been performed by Musical Stars children over the past couple of years.

Molly Daley

Jo Hodgson
Molly is passionate about everything to do with dance and learning. Dancing from the age of three, and still regularly taking classes, having the chance to pass knowledge onto the students at Musical Stars is thrilling. Molly is a Registered Teacher with NZAMD and has experience teaching a range of dance styles. Alongside studying Psychology at Victoria University, Molly has been involved in productions with Porirua Little Theatre and World of Wearable Arts, as a dancer and in the role of the Narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. 
 
Starting at Musical Stars in 2016, Molly has continued to teach in studios across Wellington, but always favouring the musical theatre flair and style that Musical Stars brings. Her favourite musicals are The Sound Of Music, Joseph, and The Wizard of Oz – you can’t beat the classics!

Jake Elston

Jo Hodgson
Jake Elston has been in acting classes for as long as he can remember. He discovered his passion for musical theatre five years ago when he did his first show (High School Musical in 2015) and he hasn’t looked back since! Jake has performed in a number of shows around Wellington, including Shrek the Musical in 2019. He has just completed his three year Bachelor in Applied Arts (Musical Theatre) at Te Auaha Institute of Creativity and is super excited to be taking on this new chapter in his career in the arts.

Jade Thomson

Jade Thomson

Jade is the excited to be the new singing teacher at Musical Stars for 2020. Music is a universal language that can reach every living being on this earth and singing opens a channel for healing, connection, and confidence in the purest form. Jade is in middle year of working towards a Bachelor of Applied Arts – Performing Arts at Te Auaha, and is so excited to start working with all the children at Musical Stars. She believes that confidence and self-worth is at the forefront of importance, and at such a crucial time of development it is important to have a safe and nurturing space for the kids to express themselves creatively, free from all judgment. Through encouragement and nourishment of everyone’s individual strengths, Jade is passionate in allowing a creative space to for everyone to flourish. Can’t wait for what this year has in store for all of us!!

Michaela Dye

Madi, an ex-student, is now helping out every week in the Lower Hutt venue, and has been for several years now. Having teacher aids and assistants like Madi are important to the culture we create at musical stars. They allow for more opportunities for one on one, personalised tutelage, more friendly faces that the kids know and allow the kids to connect with more people of different ages and with different theatre experiences.

Jasmine Grace

Madi Knowles

Jo Hodgson

Madeline started Musical Stars when she was only 6 years old. She participated in many shows with us during the years and was an honour when she came to teach for us. She wanted other children to experience her joy in acting.

 

Madeline started her Television career with a role as “Lottie White” in Shortland Street in 2016. She was also in several other movies as: The Lobster, Lucy Lewis Can’t Loose, Educators and Home Detention. Maddy was also involved in many stage productions as lead: Wizard of Oz, Joseph and his Technicolor Dreamcoat, Oliver, Mid-Summer Nights Fairytale.

Madeline stared Toi Whakaari Nz Drama School in 2017 and she is finishing her third year in July. Apart from acting she is interested and had gain certification in different areas like Combat Training (Allen Henry), Hip Hop, Ballet, American Jazz and Circus training.

Ruth Koroniadis-Armishaw

Ruth Armishaw is a chameleon of the Wellington music scene, a freelance musician as a performer for hire, a music teacher, and a creator of artistic works. Her musical background spans the orchestral, choral, operatic, musical theatre, and jazz realms, with tertiary and post-graduate study in Vocal Jazz performance and a Performers Certificate in classical piano. Ruth’s teaching experience spans 15 years (and over 5000 hours) from one-on-one to choir singing and piano lessons for children ages 5-18.

As a past member of the Hutt Operatic, Wellington Junior Symphony Orchestra, Wellington Youth, NZ Secondary Students’, NZ Youth and Orhepus Choirs, Wellington Musical Theatre, and current member of the NBR NZ Opera Chapman Tripp Chorus (13 years), she has a vast and varied performance experience. For 4 years she was involved with the Childrens’ ArtSplash festival as assistant musical director, following 3 years with the ArtSplash stage band.
